About

Joshua Levy

President, Joshua Levy Educational Consulting, LLC

Growing up I wrote stories, designed puppet shows and composed rap songs with my sister, directed plays, sang in musicals, worked on set design, and performed in plays. I started working with special needs children while in middle school and high school. I have lived in Austin, Texas since 1998, and for eight years I taught special needs children at the elementary and high school levels, and I served as an assistant principal at an elementary school and at a high school. Following my career in public education I was with Pearson in State Assessments for nine years including positions as a project manager, a test development manager, and a program manager. I teach informal classes for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDDs) at the University of Texas, and I am an assistant adjunct professor in the Student Development Department at Austin Community College. I am the Founder and Executive Director of Joshua’s Stage, a nonprofit organization enriching the lives of individuals with special needs through programs in the arts. I have an undergraduate degree in Elementary and Special Education from the University of Nebraska, an MEd from Texas State University, and an MBA from the University of Texas at Dallas. I am married to my wife Lori, and we have two beautiful children and two dogs.
